The debate remains open, even though the scientific consensus generally considers GMOs safe based on current knowledge. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-reglementation-dans-le-monde\">Global Regulations<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regulations vary widely from country to country:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>European Union:<\/strong> Very strict. Labeling is not required. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brazil, India, Argentina:<\/strong> Major GMO producers for export-oriented agriculture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Africa:<\/strong> Adoption varies greatly depending on the country, often limited by socioeconomic and political considerations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Japan:<\/strong> Imports GMOs but permits very few domestic GMO crops.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-des-voix-divergentes-controverses-et-limites\">Diverging Opinions: Controversies and Limitations<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While many health agencies confirm the safety of currently approved GMOs, some researchers highlight significant limitations in existing evaluations.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC5044955\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">controversial study<\/a> conducted in 2012 by French researcher Gilles-\u00c9ric S\u00e9ralini \u2014 published and later retracted by <em>Food and Chemical Toxicology<\/em> \u2014 suggested a link between long-term consumption of NK603 GMO corn and tumor development in rats.
